Is it possible to "unfriend" someone without them being aware.
I don't facebook that much, and as most know, I don't usually even get on a computer during the week, only weekends. Last few weeks have been so blisterin' hot, I just took two weeks off and stayed home with the wife unit. Rich suggested several years ago I try facebook and some farm game on there. It just didn't push my buttons, and I never went back. Lately I check it just to keep up with my youngest son in Afghanistan. The unfriending candidate is family, we get along, but she is posting incessantly, needs to get a dayjob or a life, and pages scroll so fast, I can't keep up. FB don't have thread titles to keep up with.
Don't want to make a scene or ask permission, so is there some feature like "ignore".

if u unfriend they are gone and the only way they will notice you are not a friend is if they miss your wall posts or they check your wall and now all of a sudden you aren't a friend. she probably won't miss you

Cary,
I'm pretty sure there is an option if you want to ignore all the incessant updating. Hit the "x" on one of her posts on your wall or news feed - i'm pretty sure that will give you the option to hide/block.

I've had similar 'problems' with some "friends" filling up pages and pages with posts that are useless to me. Easiest way to accomplish what you're askin' about is : run your cursor/mouse over any one of this "friends" posts ......... in the upper right hand corner there will be a faint "X". Click on that "X" and it will give you options about blocking that persons posts. That friend will never have a clue you aren't seeing all their wonderful posts ---- unless they ask at a family gathering, "Hey, did you see what I posted on FB the other day?" ....... well ...... uh, ..... don't pay much attention to anyone's posts except "so&so", I guess I must have missed it.
eta: guru beat me to the punch and was a lot clearer about it. ;D

I think a lot of us feel your pain with the enormous amounts of FB posts...

Good advice in earlier posts. I have a few that I have done that to myself. I get tired of the constant blabering that amounts to nothing. You can also use the same steps above to block posts from certain apps such as farmvill or "I scored x many points playing so and so game" so they no longer show up also but regular conversations do. This has eliminated a lot of clutter from my wall.

Thanks guys,
Heck, I might add a few more friends dropping off the equivalent of 50 by "x-ing" out a few. A neice gets on daily and posts horro-scopes for pete sake. Almost every newspaper has them, and I don't read them either.
Mozyin' over to try that trick now on FB.
By the way, for anyone that cares to send our guys in the sandpile care packages and goodies, I'll forward you an addy. We send way too much for Dan, but he says the other guys certainly appreciate it as much as he does.

Oh peachy guys. Holy cow, everything compressed down to one page from who knows how many.
Now, should I get caught, how do I undo it to catch up only when I choose to. I told ya, I am old and very tech challenged.

That's what my fortune cookie said frankl, I figured it out, how to bring the post back, but only on those that I individually blocked. Where I said to block all, I didn't see a ghost icon or anything to bring it back to life. Oh well, I'll not lose much sleep over it. Thanks again

I told ya, I am old and very tech challenged. to catch up with an individuals wall posts just go to your friends list and read their wall . I've got more people blocked than i don't and if i know i'm going to be around one of the blocked i just read their wall for a bit and i then know enough to act informed in their dumbass life .
